Durban
A quiet hamlet with lots of noise

This once busy town is now a quiet hamlet and is often called the town with more street lights than people. There is an Evangelical church offering regular service, a post office, a fertilizer depot and a community recreation centre or more commonly known as the Durban Hall. The curling rink has not been used for years but there is talk of it once again having ice for future winter events. Currently the Durban Hall is still rented for gatherings such as weddings, dinners, and meetings and will now be offering Texas Holdems throughout the winter months.

Every year on the second Sunday in August the Community Centre hosts a demolition derby at the old school grounds in Durban. Participants from the Parkland region and the Swan River Valley region gather to test their skills and vehicle stamina in the ring. It is a family event with concessions on site.
